More comfortable than a sling

I bought this with the approval of my orthopedist after having surgery to repair a broken humerus. I had trouble keeping the regular belt in the correct position. I have a damaged nerve in my neck and a regular bandage made it worse and caused migraines. This brace held my arm in the optimal position for healing without straining my neck. It was hotter than a sling, but I managed it better than my constant neck pain and migraines. If for some reason you can't use a sling I recommend this shackle.
