I almost sent this cover back because I had such a hard time putting it on my mattress. According to the instructions, the mattress should be taken out of the bed and set up. I'm 5ft 6" but still had to stand on a small stool to get the blanket over my stuff. What a pain, not to mention the back pain I now have from struggling to raise my mattress. and out of bed. Okay, now comes the real reason I bought this bedspread. I have a separate 2 inch memory foam topper on my mattress. The topper sometimes slips a bit to the side; So I figured this cover would help hold it in place. BUT since the cover's zipper was on the narrow part of the mattress (i.e. top or bottom), it was not possible to tuck the topper into the cover once it was already on the mattress. As a result, I had to (1) remove everything but the top of the cover, (2) attach the mattress pad to the mattress and secure it with rope at the top, middle, and bottom, (3) put the cover back on, (4) lay it down Place the mattress, mattress pad, and comforter back onto the bed frame and (4) reach inside and remove the cords holding the mattress pad to the mattress. In all honesty, no bedding should be hard as hell to install. Needless to say I will NEVER take this cover off to wash it as the manufacturer recommends doing this every few weeks. Also note that I placed this cover on a Twin XL mattress. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be to put it on a larger mattress. As for the comfort and durability of this case, I can't say anything yet. I just put it on and haven't slept on it yet. Many other reviewers complained that the zipper broke fairly quickly. I hope that doesn't happen to my cover; but if it does, I just sew up the hole. As I mentioned, I just wanted something to hold the memory foam topper in place; So bed bugs and the like are not a problem for me.
