I bought these socks for running. I run marathons and before purchasing these socks I often had blisters and/or bruises on my nails from long runs and races. I've tried many different types of running socks, both compression and non-compression, made from a variety of materials, and tried different types of shoes, but my feet struggled in vain until I bought these socks. i am a small woman with thin/narrow feet so I was concerned they might not be small enough. I bought the small ones and they fit me perfectly (for reference, I wear size 6 women's shoes). These socks don't feel as tight as my other compression stockings, but since they are snug, that's not a problem for me. They gently compress. Overall I'm very happy with these socks and will likely buy more pairs if they hold up well.
