I live in New York, my bedroom is quite small but it has a sliding door that leads to a beautiful balcony which is a gem in the city center. For years I've suffered with a ceiling fan on the hottest days due to the exposure of portable air conditioners to the elements. This year I broke down and bought a portable - it's handy and I've explored different ways to get the hot air out, especially as I have blinds so the kit you can buy specifically for patio doors didn't fit flush. and all insulation required for tightness. Then I can through this product. Considering the price I decided it was worth a try. It's easy to install (just make sure you follow the instructions and clean the surface you're sticking the velcro to) with no permanent damage. I wanted my opening to be on the opposite side so technically it could be inside out but the zippers are double + on both sides so it works fine. Is it 100% tight? No, but it's close enough that I don't feel the heat returning. Even better, I can unzip my door and use it freely when not in use. I usually open a side by closing it in the screen or there is enough velcro left over that can be cut from a small square and used to hold the flaps open when not in use. When the summer is over I can take off the white part and save it for next year. Anyway, it's perfect for my purposes!
