Even if they don't produce an immediate response, they can cause problems in the future. Nickel allergies can gradually worsen with exposure, so it's best to avoid it altogether. I personally had a reaction, and that's the only reason I researched this metal in the first place. Earrings made of 316L can be called hypoallergenic, but this is an incredible misconception. For the lucky ones who don't have to worry about nickel, these are good earrings. Comfortable enough to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they lock easily and securely. I had one of eight hinges broken, but I'm sure the company would take care of it if I contacted them for a replacement.
