Update January 2019 I bought this product in early 2017 and would like to give a more detailed review after a year of use. I bought this to protect my new 14 inch memory foam bed. I'm sure you can imagine endless messes and spills with four kids, especially when it comes to "accidents" and diaper leaks. I needed a 100% reliable mattress protector so I took a chance and went with this one. I was skeptical at first, but. WOW, my skepticism was wrong! I am impressed by his perfect performance! I have always kept this blanket on my bed for well over a year except when it needed to be washed. After all that spilling and messing up, my mattress was NEVER touched! Not a drop of dirt. No micro stain. NOTHING! When I take off the cover. My bed (with white stretch-knit cover) looks and smells the same as the first day I installed it! I'm not exaggerating a bit. This case is completely waterproof! Nothing ever seeps through the other side. I washed it several times according to the directions and it came out clean and undamaged. This is perfect for my 14 inch mattress; It has a tight fit but also stretches incredibly if you have a thicker mattress. When you need reliability and durability. Lucid is the right brand! This is a must when buying a new mattress. I bought this cover for a new 14 inch memory gel mattress (classic brands). The case is designed for a mattress up to 22 inches thick; However, the cover seemed to almost hit its 14 inch limit as it seemed just right for my mattress, any thicker ones can compress the mattress a bit. The zipper only goes through the front of the mattress; It doesn't enclose the entire mattress, which I honestly prefer. The fabric is beautifully silky and the zipper is of durable quality. I tested the water resistance by pouring an 8 ounce glass of water on it and it definitely works, no water got into the case. Unlike those cheap vinyl covers, this one doesn't rip or crackle, it's like wrapping a mattress in a sturdy sheet. It slid right onto my mattress with no problem. It is now just as easy for me to know that my new mattress is fully protected from all sides from liquids, allergens, dust, dirt, insects and other debris. And with a very affordable price, you can't go wrong!
