Review on 🔌 DataComm Electronics, Inc. 45-0023-WH Recessed Pro-Power Kit - White, 2 Gang - Straight Blade Inlet with Power Kit by Monica Williams

I've ditched a lot of TVs over the years and now that power pass-through kit prices are going down I wanted one give try. I've used other kits in the recent past that connect the power directly to the home power supply which looks cleaner but makes using a surge protector through it more difficult (sockets were recessed so cube blocks won't fit. You'll have to daisy chain a laptop/ travel surge protector). In short, it gives you more choice and the ability to use bigger/better surge protectors. The good thing about this kit is that it has everything you need and is pretty well put together. Installation is easy and even includes a drywall cutting template. There were a couple of issues: The recessed socket on the side of the TV made it difficult to use the flat plug power cord that came with my LG TV, so I had to cut off part of the bracket to unplug the cord. fit. In addition, the socket has been reversed in the top socket and, when properly removed and refitted, restricted access to the power connectors (see image). However, it was rather minor and I was able to work around both issues. The end result was a clean install in about an hour's work (including hanging up the TV). Next time I will most likely use this set again.
