Does not come with electric cable!

Had to go to hardware store to buy electrical wire to install this. This is the reason for 2 stars. I've done this setup before and it's pretty easy if you have even the basic necessities of comfort around the house. You could spend a little more and probably get better but this takes place in the bedroom so it will do the trick for me.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some little things

To the hardware store

I love this plug-in power supply, but one element is missing: the electrical wiring. It doesn't matter except that I was expecting slightly different content. I've seen similar versions with an extension connecting the top and bottom boxes. Aside from having to go to the hardware store, installation was easy if you followed the instructions. The manufacturer recommends professional installation, but I think if anyone has the ability to install a switch, lamp, or outlet, they can probably safely

The wings are thin and break off with minimal pressure

I really like the professional look of the product. Unfortunately it is not sustainable. The plastic wings that slide out and hook into the drywall are much thinner than those on a standard old PVC box, which also slides out and hooks into the wall. This causes them to break off instead of pressing against the wall. I tightened it with a screwdriver but they didn't stick to the wall. As I continued to twist, the plastic tab broke off instead of putting more pressure on the wall. The device…

The plastic seems to flex but works great / get a single gear box.

i like it, took the time to get it right a single gang poke a single hole under the tv for the wires to come out of the wall then i did before the electrics made a hole down the bottom in the same 16 inch area that the outlet is already in the wall and plugged in a couple of 14/2s and pushed to this unit and the connection was tight but works great and a single 1 is so with a socket that perfectly covers the hole at the bottom. I would like to point out that if you have a friend who is REALLY…

Great product over power cord

This product has allowed me to install a TV in one room and a UPS in a media cabinet in another room. This allows my TV to be powered by the UPS (I have a pure sine wave UPS). When my Vizo TV loses power it takes 3-5 minutes to restart from this state. I used 14/2 wire (black, white, and ground) to get the 30 or so feet I needed. I only work with TV and don't walk far so 14/2 was fine, after 50ft or more I would use 12/2. Make sure you cut the inside line on the template, otherwise your hole…

For Special Occasions

If you need to lift an electrical outlet 30cm off the floor to mount a flat screen TV or maybe some other device then this item will work great. Not only did I run the power to the outlet, I also ran the coaxial cable. This is actually the best connection as the coaxial cable can be connected directly to the TV and does not have to be converted via a junction box. A cardboard box is sufficient for the output side of the plate. We cut the wall panel so that the panel can be attached to the wall…

There are a few issues but overall I'm very happy

I've ditched a lot of TVs over the years and now that power pass-through kit prices are going down I wanted one give try. I've used other kits in the recent past that connect the power directly to the home power supply which looks cleaner but makes using a surge protector through it more difficult (sockets were recessed so cube blocks won't fit. You'll have to daisy chain a laptop/ travel surge protector). In short, it gives you more choice and the ability to use bigger/better surge protectors.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Professional results

Excellent result - looks very professional. Installation was easy and relatively easy; We recommend that you watch the online video first to get an idea of what you need to do. Note: You must supply 14-2 Romex for the inside of the wall. Tip: Consider additional dimensions for the tablet lid. I used a template to cut the hole, but when I installed the outlet/cable hole plate it was about 1/4 inch wider and got in the way of the TV wall frame. I just had to trim the plastic sheet a bit with a…

A neat and tidy way to hide cables for your TV.

Allows you to hide the cables of the wall mounted TV in the wall. It comes with Old Work style junction boxes with twist tabs to lock them in place. You need to cut two rectangular holes in the drywall or plaster and then find the boxes. One is behind the TV and the other is at the bottom of the wall outside the compound. Depending on the distance between the two boxes, you will also need a 14-gauge or 12-gauge two-wire Romax wire with a ground. The screws for the supplied socket were very…
