I've been a big Baggallini fan for years. I love that they put so much effort into designing great bags for REAL use. The main reason I buy a bag is functionality and not just an expensive accessory. I also want a durable good looking bag as I use it all the time until it needs to be recycled. Baggallini is one of the very few brands that I will buy because they have a good reputation and don't skimp on quality and design to increase profits. This bag is no exception! This is a medium sized case that will easily fit a Kindle or similar sized item. It has plenty of room in the large zipped center compartment which has credit card slots as well as the smaller zipped compartment within this main compartment. Includes a small zippered RFID credit card pocket that attaches to a strong zippered drawstring inside this main compartment. One of my suggestions is that the entire main compartment is RFID since the credit card slots are in this part. The included small zip pocket has no card slots, so everything needs to be left in a mess if you need RFID protection. Both the main compartment and the small zip pocket are lined in bright fuchsia and not only pleasantly surprise. a bit of joy every time you open the bag, it lets in light and makes finding items easier. In this section, in addition to the small zippered pouch that was included in the package, I keep an 8" RFID zippered wallet, as well as a similarly sized coupon/receipt file. I still have plenty of room for other things if needed, like paperbacks, glasses cases. The back compartment has a magnetic closure at the top to keep large flat items in place, but it also has a zip closure at the bottom! This is a fantastic travel feature as the bag can then be slipped over the luggage handle making it easy to get around at the airport and elsewhere. In the past, I've also kept a better eye on sweaters and jackets, folding them up for safer, hands-free transport. I wish this zipper had a zip so it can be locked when not in use. The zipper sometimes comes loose during everyday use of the bag and the contents of the bag may fall out from below. There is a large fuchsia lined phone pocket on the front with a snap closure that will hold my phone in a wallet (my phone measures 5 7/8" x 3 1/8" x 5/8"") and can yet to be closed. On the front of the bag there are two more zipped compartments with fuchsia lining. One is handy for storing lip balm, band aids and WetOnes. The other can store Kindle etc. for easy use. It has pockets with one is easy to open without a valve and can be used for a mobile phone. I used it to carry a second 16 ounce water bottle. The other is for drinks with a stretchable pocket that easily closes with a vertical zipper when not in use and is a sunglass case. The fabric is black with gray flowers that look like chrysanthemums (or to a child's eye, they looked fireworks grey). The fabric is again a durable canvas, but smooth, elastic and not shiny. I've used this bag almost every day since I bought it and it still looks brand new. It shows no signs of wear, not even on the underside. I wiped up spilled coffee and slush with no visible stains. The shoulder strap is wide (1 ¼ inch), smooth and still shows no signs of wear on the sturdy metal connectors after all this time. Doesn't roll anywhere on the bag, not even on the strap. I usually wear it on my shoulder, but sometimes when I'm traveling or walking long distances I use it as a crossbody bag. The only thing I want to do for the strap is add some fabric around the top to keep the bag from slipping off the shoulder. When I bought the bag it was modeled as a shoulder bag so I can see why Baggallini didn't add it. I personally prefer a small shoulder bag for everyday use. However, I love this bag and carry my daily essentials and can carry it a bit more comfortably when traveling which makes me absolutely happy to use it as a crossbody bag every day.
