Review on Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Honeydew Drop Floor Seat: Portable Infant Chair with Toys by Megan Evans

Really wanted to try this product for my 4.5 month old girl; The reviews have been amazing and I thought this would be the perfect product for her as she is now at an age where she wants to sit more during the day, is still working on head control and is not yet ready for her mommy and daddy chair is. Setup was easy; I assembled everything according to the instructions in 15 minutes. Following the instructions, I knelt behind a chair and tried to fit her in - the leg holes seemed a bit small, but with a bit of skill we squeezed her in there. She played for about 10 minutes and seemed happy to sit down and then wanted to leave. Here lies the big problem. I tried to get her out using the same method of kneeling behind her and I couldn't get rid of her legs! I tried to pick her up gently, rocking her from side to side, and every time I picked her up, her hips dropped into the little leg holes and the whole seat went up with her. After the 3rd try she started crying because her legs seemed to hurt. My 5 year old daughter who was playing with us was worried about being stuck and unfortunately at this point I was too. I had no other adult around to help me get them out. After sitting her back down and assessing the situation for a few minutes (and panicking a bit inside), I was able to take her out by holding her waist with one hand and freeing her hips with the other hand, my leg grabbing the Seat pressed down the floor on one side. Of course I won't be using it anymore and will be returning it fully assembled in a huge box as it can't break once assembled. I would recommend this product for children of average weight and younger who can hold their heads up well, but not for older children with thick hips (my daughter is only 15 feet tall but her height is in the 90th percentile). for her age and weighs a healthy 18 pounds). I'm afraid if I try to use it again she'll get pinched as she's getting bigger every day. Super slacker, it didn't work!
