You might think a digital thermometer is an "instant read” device. It's definitely not this one. So be careful. It can take up to two minutes to get a fairly accurate reading. At the same time, you can't trust that until you're sure the device has been in the water long enough to get close enough to the correct temperature. I have other digital temperature gauges that I have used for years. I compare them to each other to make sure they stay accurate. They are all instantly digital, so they go from 30º to 130º in exactly a split second. I have compared this device to others and it may differ by 1º or more. So if I have these other devices, why did I buy these? Easy. I needed a sitz bath water testing device after surgery. Thinking I could just throw this cute little device in the water and get an instant reading would be easier than trying to control the water temperature with an infrared trigger controlled device. The idea was great, but the product wasn't. Ouch! Spring. It's still cute.
