I got this for my Syrian Hamster. Before that, he had a ring gear that he never seemed to ride. So I knew I had to get him another balance bike that was big enough for him. The other wheels seem to arch his back too much, so I figured a saucer wheel would be better, but he didn't like it. So I tried this wheel and bought a 9 inch for it. My hamster is on it all night now! He loves to! There is more than enough space for him to roam around. It's easy to clean because yes, he uses the toilet in it from time to time. Mostly calm. I wouldn't say it's "quiet". There is a faint rustling of a spinning wheel and then I hear my hamsters stamping their feet as they run. The only downside I would say is that it's not as durable as I would like. It seems like it takes more weight to keep it in place. Once my hamster really moves, the wheel on the base will start to move slightly. But other than that it's a great running bike, just what my hamster needs to run!
