I needed a lock to replace one on a firebox that I had lost the key to. I almost bought another set but then I went back and measured the depth and length of the latch. I'm glad I did. This matched the old one perfectly. The lock is strong enough for what it is and I had no trouble installing it. Don't expect high security from a lock as any kid with a paperclip can open it in seconds. But that is normal with this type of lock, even cylinder locks can be opened quickly with plastic ballpoint pens. For my needs I wanted something that would protect the lid rather than deter a determined thief. I am 100% satisfied with that.
