I ordered 48 pairs and the fabric listed is 70% acrylic 25% polyester 5% spandex but I received 12 pairs and it is 80% cotton. Don't buy cotton. Socks for the homeless. The reason cotton socks are such a terrible choice for winter weather is because they provide little insulation and absorb and retain moisture. To make matters worse, a cotton sock loses its insulating ability as soon as it gets wet.
