However, good baskets seem to fit in a partial diamond rather than a square (even bottom-in). Also in the picture you can see that there is quite a large gap between the bottom and the side wall - small objects (handles) can fall out. Those things aside, the wicker material seems to be of high quality, but I've just received them (and so far my cats haven't tried using them as scratching posts). I will not buy the folding version again.
