This is my second flash (vowing never to buy another when I received the AD200) from Godox. The first was the Godox V860II-C flash and while it's great too, there are a few features I really like about the V1. Yes, the head is round (in the photo of the girl with the guitar I connected the magnetic dome and used it off-camera in the shade) and has magnetic mounts from the AK-R1, such as mesh, gels and reflective card , but unlike the V860 you don't need an S-R1 adapter ring, which is really cool. I'm sure there will be other attachments later, but they had this kit, but enough about attachments. This flash has a good flash range with a guide number of 92 feet. The reload time was good and at full power it has 650 full power pops and I have to say the reload time was pretty quick. But what I really like are two features: a standard ring that you twist into the locking position. The second is a channel scanner. WOW! No more going to events with DJ gear, microwave ovens or anything else near RF and figuring out which channel to open to connect all your Godox lights together. I can now use the V1 to scan and program my AD200, AD600 and V860 before setting it up and be sure the radio is working. in direct backlight at a distance of about 6 feet from the model.
