This set has everything you need for sharp knives. I bought it for my father as a present. I didn't know how to use it because there were so many different stones with different grits, but my dad taught me. I've learned that we start with a lower grit and work our way up. Our knives have gone from blunt to sharp. In the beginning the knives had scratches from lower grit stones, but as we got bigger they looked more polished. Now our knives are very sharp and we can easily cut tomatoes and other foods. My father used it to sharpen our kitchen knives. The included cut resistant gloves are very suitable for a beginner like me to use this set.
