Maybe I was unlucky, but the hole around the ankle was too small and the elastic on the sides was too short to go through the leg. I ended up having to cut the elastics to get my leg in. But once inside, they fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the very wide size doesn't seem to apply to the hole. I think next time I'll stick with the laces. Another thing to note is the Amazon sizing choice that says "wide" but the shoe is actually "very wide" according to the tag.
