Warm, Light, Effective

I bought this for beauty reasons to better get through our second winter in Detroit. The temperature was near freezing every day, there was a lot of snow and there were some very windy days during the month and a half that he wore this jacket. He commutes 6 miles to work and wears this jacket every day and it has already made this winter easier for him. Fit: He is an XL size guy so I bought him an XL size jacket which fits him although it is sufficient. Room for a layer with his sweatshirt underneath. The hood cannot be pulled down, so he also wears a hat. Insulation: It is an oven and generates a lot of body heat. The shiny interior reflects much of that heat back to him, keeping him warm. The addition of his hoodie actually reduces heat as it's absorbed by the hoodie and not reflected back, creating two air gaps to warm up instead of one. Long sleeves and long johns look good and there are no problems with the hood. On very cold days, like temperatures of 20°F or below, he pulls on an outer layer. Quality and Durability: He's only been wearing it for a month but only a few feathers have broken off, the stitching looks secure (albeit more difficult). say to the dark material), and the material insulates well and does not tear. I would say this is a quality jacket. Packing: We both love backpacks, which is why I chose this jacket because a previous review talked about backcountry packing. When I flattened as small a ball as possible, it almost fit in a quart Ziploc bag. That's a good price for something that packs small and doesn't weigh much, but still keeps you warm in sub-zero temperatures. He loves this jacket because it's light, comfortable, and most importantly, efficient. . I highly recommend this jacket.
