isolated, yes. noise isolation, right?

The fit is decent. At 6ft tall, weighing 160lbs and with a slim build, the SMALL fits well. Cuffs and neckline are a bit loose. I wish the elastic was tighter on the cuffs. The isolation is somewhat misleading. This jacket is marketed as "590 Turbodown". This means that the insulation is 15% down and 85% polyester. Based on the feel of the jacket, I would guess a down density of 590 units. This shift in poly and down fill means the jacket is heavier than a 590 fill power 100% down jacket…

A warm jacket! suitable for outerwear

This jacket is WARM! I am an Appalachian Trail maintainer and recently wore this jacket on a designated area work hike. At the beginning of the trail the temperature was 15 degrees, the wind was about 16 km/h and I was wearing an underlayer and a hiking shirt underneath. After about 20 minutes I had to take off my coat because I was TOO hot. This jacket has become my favorite jacket for walking around town. Thanks to the new technology (combination of down and synthetic filling) I'm warmer than

Big leaks down. on mens

I want to start by LOVE this coat. It served me well this winter in New York. It was 30 degrees and I had to wear a coat and only kept warm with a buttoned work shirt and a t-shirt underneath. The coat fit well enough on its own, but there was still room if I wanted another layer underneath. Unfortunately I had to return this coat as after 3 days the lint started seeping through the seams and crevices on the outside. Then I noticed that there were feathers on my shirts and sweaters, we also had

Good but not very good for outerwear

Well, first of all the size. I ordered the same in size XL. It's comfortable with a t-shirt underneath, but not as roomy as the Pike Lake Jacket. Heat. I put it on tonight in 35 degree weather with little wind and it was warm enough. I doubt I will use it below 20 or 25 degrees. Comfort Not only is it a little smaller than expected, it's also very comfortable and I love its style. Despite the odd silver lining that Columbia uses to reflect heat and insulate. The hood fits well and protects the…

Cheaper product and assembly - not what it used to be. So disappointed

so I originally bought one of these just about a year ago. The jacket is great, warm and durable. So a year later I decide let's buy another one just in case it gets discontinued. Wow what a difference and not for the better. My original has been feeling the quality for a year now. What stood out the most was another example of a company cutting corners to save a few dollars but charging the same price. The photo shows that on my original all the points of the logo have been embroidered and the

Extremely light and very warm for its weight

Very light jacket, very comfortable and much warmer than you would expect at such a weight. Fabric and filling are reminiscent of an ultra-light sleeping bag. Although lightly lined, this jacket is good for me in the 30 degree range and above, even in colder temperatures with a base layer or in an active situation. This is probably due to the reflective inner lining, which, however, makes the inside of the jacket look like a disco ball. The sleeves are slightly longer than other jackets, which…

Warm, Light, Effective

I bought this for beauty reasons to better get through our second winter in Detroit. The temperature was near freezing every day, there was a lot of snow and there were some very windy days during the month and a half that he wore this jacket. He commutes 6 miles to work and wears this jacket every day and it has already made this winter easier for him. Fit: He is an XL size guy so I bought him an XL size jacket which fits him although it is sufficient. Room for a layer with his sweatshirt…

This jacket keeps you warm, not warm in cold weather

So images of a man on a mountain top wearing this jacket can be a bit misleading. I live in the city of Chicago; I bought this jacket about a month ago (November 2019) when temperatures dropped below 40F. I'm the type of person who doesn't get cold easily (although I grew up in Southern California) and wear this jacket (Columbia Mens Die Voodoo Falls 590 Turbodown Jacket in blue colors above about 60°F warms you up very quickly - on par with one of my much heavier jackets, for comparison I've…
