The color is really pretty and it seems to be working fine. I haven't tried with the battery yet as I am planning to buy a battery later today. My brother just installed these in my kitchen and they are awesome! I am not sure why these do not get more attention, but these are thick and have a very heavy duty look to them. I do not have any experience with any other welding helmets, but this helmet does everything I would like it to do. I really like that you can adjust the shade, response, and delay. It is much easier to use than the perminatly dark helmets. I'm sure the $300 helmets are better, but this does exactly what I need. It is also really nice that it comes with a carrying bag, so it is easy to take to and from my welding class. Our company dog chews up all his toys pretty quick. I bought this to see how long it lasts and I guess Level 8 isn't strong enough. It only lasted 20 minutes before the dog got a hole in the middle to get at the squeaker. Nice toy, great for tug-o-war and the colors are fun. Everything about this is great. We filled a drum-style composter and needed more room, so we got this as an addition. This way, we can let the drum-style composter finish its work, but still have a place for uneaten veggies and fruits (e.g., trimmings, etc.).Advice: Put a heavy brick or two on the top until you get about a foot of material in the bottom. We’ve been using ours for about a month or so now and are very pleased. I use it as a sprayer extension to our laundry room bathroom. I did not buy this hat for myself nor have I ever owned a Boonie hat. My husband, however, had owned many. So I bought one for my him, because he was in dire need of a new one, and one for my 7 year old son who had to have one because dad got one.
