Granite Ware crock for chilling soups and stews

I don't know what some of the 2 star people cook but I use my little 3 liter. Granite crock pot for chilling soups and stews, roasting chicken (don't normally use a lid), cooking that steamed pork (like Kalua pork but in the oven) with potatoes and onions, sticky pasta and cheese casseroles, etc., and it all works great ! And delicious. Anything that cooks on it, like all the cheese, I just soak the pan in hot water with some dish soap overnight and use one of those stainless steel tools (like little rings, not a Brillo pad) to scrape it off. . Mine is easy to clean and I love it. The lid doesn't fit the pot snugly, so any time I need to sear/bake/cook something that requires steam, I just use foil wrapped tightly around the rim of the pot. I will buy another Granite item (I don't bake very much) just because I like it. It's not thick metal, so you have to be careful not to burn anything on the stove (use the most insulated pan possible for this type of cooking).

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Small parts
