Bought to use when my little grandson came over for the night. The package arrived before the deadline and was very well packed (I think because of the electronic equipment you don't want it to break in transit). Place him in the spare room where his crib is. Set the camera on a bookshelf facing the crib. I held the video monitor in my hand and manipulated the camera until I had a perfect view of the crib. I walked down the corridor to the kitchen and saw the crib perfectly. Tested with my daughter, sound works great. When there is light in the room, the video image becomes black and white, but this is not a problem. We also tried it in our garden and the picture and sound were the same as if we were indoors - very impressed. My daughter is a new mom who is very worried about her baby and that we (parents) have a very big house. With this baby monitor, now it's very convenient for her to come here, put him down and not worry that she won't hear him crying or upset anymore. It means the world to me. I'm not that mechanical or technical person but I had no problem setting this up. I highly recommend this block. Oh, and as for the lullabies, one reviewer called them "creepy," but they're just old lullabies I grew up listening to and I found them very gentle. The child (7 months old) is not used to it as his mother always sings to him, but maybe one day - he is still small). Thank you to all the reviewers who took the time to review all of these baby monitors! Based on the reviews I think I bought the best and I know I'm very happy with it.
