Timken Axle Bearing 5707

I bought these to replace the axle bearings on my '98 Jimmy. I wanted to be the best in the business, so I chose Timken. When I opened the Timken box and looked at the bearings, it said KOYO. I looked at the boxes again and said what the heck. Being in the business, I knew there could only be two reasons for what I was seeing. Either someone replaced Koyo with Timken to save money, or Timken outsourced the work on Koyo. I emailed the Timken company asking about the deal and they said so. "Thank you for your letter expressing concerns about the contents of the box. Timken is not the manufacturer of all of the products we sell. BUT we control the quality and specifications of the product that we put in our box. It must be of the same quality. Standards in the quality of the products we manufacture. As a result, many potential suppliers have been eliminated. We will also use the original manufacturers whenever possible.” I assume that's the answer to my question? If you want your bearings to have Timken lettering you will have to engrave it yourself as they don't. I gave it three stars because I was really disappointed in Timken because of that, but at the same time I think it's good stuff if it passes their test.
