Revainrating 4 out of 5

A very good gaming display, if not perfect.

In terms of 1080p gaming displays, this is one of the best I've used. So let's put this review together and look at the pros and cons: Pros: 1.) Very easy to set up. The stand attaches in seconds with a spring-loaded screen mount clip, and the stand attaches with a fairly typical thumbscrew. 2.) Great connectivity here. HDMI, DisplayPort, 4 USB ports, headphone output is great - even the ability to charge devices with the screen off - via USB ports. FYI, the listing images aren't entirely accurate for USB ports - it looks like there are three USB-A ports visible behind the screen. In fact, there are only two of them, and the third is a USB-B connector for connecting to a computer. 3.) Anti-glare coating on the screen - the screen feels a little "rough" but does the job well. Minimize reflections without sacrificing image quality. 4.) Compatible with Freesync and G-Sync, although G-Sync is not mentioned in the product description. Confirmed with my MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio connected to this display via DisplayPort. Excellent! 5.) 240Hz is impressive though. (see cons) 6.) The stand is solid with height adjustment, rotation along the base of the stand, tilt and 90 degree rotation (great for pinball games!) 7.) IPS panel, day and night quality better than TN in viewing angles, but. (see cons). 8.) Convenient retractable headphone hook. 9.) Convenient channel for power/display/USB cables on the bottom of the stand. Bring up the real-time display menu to place it in any corner of the screen. Disadvantages: 1.) 240 Hz is of dubious value compared to 144 Hz. My everyday gaming monitor is the 27-inch 1440p Acer Predator XB271HU, which is a great IPS gaming monitor, and I keep switching back and forth between Lenovo and Acer in multiple games - the Acer just feels better when gaming - despite the different resolution. Even at maximum refresh rate, the difference between 144 fps and 240 fps isn't huge. In games like 2016's Doom (which is capped at 200 fps for unknown reasons), I've really had to struggle to tell the difference, and the pros of Acers were too many to ignore: a.) Contrast just isn't that good on the Lenovo, there was a bit of the typical blooming/fogging in the corners, although nothing too bad compared to what IPS screen owners might get are used to, but the overall black level is quite high, especially compared to the Acer Predator. I'm very sensitive to blurry corners and to be honest this monitor did an excellent job of that. b) Color saturation is lacking compared to the Acer. is OLED in terms of brightness, but no settings can get me where I like it with Acer. c.) The input lag on the Lenovo is not as good as on the Acer. Even if real numbers are needed for this point, Lenovo is still "very good". It's just that I could easily see the difference in milliseconds between Acer's 144 fps and Lenovo's 240 fps, despite even Lenovo's lower frame time lag when hitting 240 fps. 2.) I'm not a fan of Lenovo's blinding white Power Light, which is very distracting in a dark room and doesn't seem to have a way to turn it off during use (unlike Acer - thanks Acer!). 3.) Brightness is acceptable, but HDR just doesn't make sense on the screen here. with brightness"OK". HDR doesn't do much (or anything?), and generally you just need to avoid using it. 4.) No speakers. I've called this a scam as it keeps costs down and the onscreen speakers aren't great anyway. But still, as a last resort - for some users, they work. 5.) Cheap buttons facing the user. They're pretty intuitive (although not very good), but I don't like them. I would have liked thin bindings on all four sides with buttons on the back. Would look amazing.6.) 1080p. Of course, 240 fps is unattainable in the latest games with higher resolutions, but. 1080p In general I like this screen. It's not perfect, but overall it's definitely an interesting product. The stand is well thought out down to the smallest detail and the hidden G-Sync compatibility was a very pleasant surprise. 4 out of 5 stars. Very good.

Pros
  • Convenient Gaming - The Legion Y25-25 computer monitor stand offers multiple positions for tilting, swiveling, pivoting or elevating the screen, as well as VESA mounting options. There's even a headphone hook.
Cons
  • Monitor colors are washed out.
