Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good monitor with some big problems

Pros: - Good exterior build quality and lots of customization - Pretty good range of ports and QoL features - Gaming at 240Hz for around $250 is an absolute steal. Cons: - Poor screen flickering when the refresh rate is set to less than 144Hz - Vertical lines and image burn are randomly common. Thankfully, this is temporary, but it means you won't be able to use the monitor for 30 minutes until the burn-in goes away. - Lights are too bright and darks are too dark. Image quality/colors pale in comparison to other monitors I've used. Fumbling around with the settings doesn't help. Additional notes on burn-in, flickering, and vertical lines: About two weeks after purchasing the monitor, I started noticing that the monitor would flicker occasionally and immediately "burned out" whatever was on the screen. during. For example, I open a Youtube video no more than 5 seconds, and then BAM, vertical lines everywhere, and everything that's on the screen is burned to the monitor for the next 30 minutes. I've tried things like changing cables, plugging and unplugging the monitor from a power source, fiddling with settings, and lowering the refresh rate (resulting in very severe flickering below 144Hz and not resolving the burn-in issue). I've attached some photos and videos of the burn-in/vertical line issue. It wouldn't be so problematic if it didn't happen so often. It seems like every two or three days I'm surfing the web and suddenly the monitor turns off and becomes unusable for the next 30 minutes. It would be a lot worse if I didn't already have a second monitor, but I'd rather not have one at all. . You really can't beat 240Hz for just $250, but image quality is mediocre at best, and you may encounter burn-in/vertical line issues occasionally. If you can afford to buy a better 240Hz monitor, go for it - it's worth avoiding these weird issues. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Does not support PS5.
Cons
  • I'm giving it one star because my HDMI connection to my monitor doesn't work when I just unplug it.
