Review on Dell S2722QC 27 4K USB-C Monitor with Integrated Speakers and Adjustable Stand by Randy Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Brightness is not impressive

This is an average monitor for the price. Basically, the picture and text look good, sharp and clear, but the biggest problem is the brightness. It's not evenly distributed, it's very clear that the areas near the frame are darker than the center of the screen. Maybe this is an inevitable LCD problem? I bought a replacement but found the replacement was even worse in terms of brightness. The replacement needs to be adjusted to 90% to achieve the same brightness as the original 80%. Well I ended up sending the replacement back but kept the original as it was still usable. Update: After using the first S2722QC for a month. , I'm starting to get used to it and actually think it's a pretty good monitor considering the price. I bought another U2722Q for $679 but found that there is not much difference between the two. And sometimes I feel like the S2722QC is even a bit sharper in text. Upgrading one star to 4 stars. But this model is now running out of storage and the price has been bumped to over $600. When the price comes back I might reconsider buying another one.
