This is my first lap chair. I prefer it to my regular office chair. I currently use it all day at work. My upper back hurt the first day. But I'm getting used to it. I had to adjust the seat to the lowest height to work with my desk height and was unable to use the casters because the seat was almost too high in the lowest position (no casters). Have him sit on the mat. Without wheels I need a carpet. Otherwise he would have torn my wooden floor. Adjusting the knee pad is finicky, and adjusting the seat seemed impossible at first. The button is stuck. But with some determination I managed to adjust it. Some positions are more difficult to set up than others. I put it into operation. I will not make any adjustments unless absolutely necessary. That is a challenge. The rest of the chair is very solid and stable. I have two seat cushions that I have used on other chairs that I use to improve seat and knee pad comfort. This gives me some flexibility without having to adjust the chair. I wish the seat could tilt with no height adjustment. But I wouldn't expect that in this price range. If I didn't have an extra seat cushion, I would have to sit on the extreme edge of the chair without proper padding for all that pressure. The additional seat cushion allows me to sit more steeply on the edge of the chair and distribute the pressure. I like that the seat is so flat that I can sit on it like a stool without having to put my weight on my knees or shins. . I just wish there was a way to steepen the angle at the lowest height. There are many ways to sit in this chair with an extra cushion or two. I like.
