Brilliant Black Toothpaste contains toothpaste ingredients without many unwanted extras. I couldn't find a list of ingredients on the website, but they are listed on the 2 ounce tube it comes in. Ingredients include: diatomaceous earth, xylitol, baking soda, coconut oil, charcoal, citric acid, peppermint, tea tree, and xanthan gum. According to Healthline, "Studies have shown that xylitol improves dental health and prevents tooth decay." We were taught to expect white toothpaste. Black toothpaste takes some getting used to, and it really is black. It works well enough. Mint flavor is weak. I wish it was stronger. On the negative side, when I rinse my mouth out after brushing my teeth, it leaves a black residue in the sink. Rinses off without leaving stains.
