The water handle rotates in the opposite direction than you would expect to open and fill with water. It's messy when you use it, and water drips from the rear water tank when squeezed to wet the tip. So practice a few times to see what happens before you ruin your drawing with water droplets where you don't need them. The pens themselves have very nice soft brushes, but the paint doesn't flow very quickly and doesn't work like watercolor brushes. So practice again. This is a great idea when you can't line up traditional paints but don't paint them like traditional paints. Although they have a very thin tip, but of course you need a very firm hand for this, because the tips are very soft. Again, they're soft and pliable, so if you're used to brushes of different consistencies that can be used for different aspects of painting, you don't have that option with these pens. However, they are fun to use. Oh the colors are good but I need more of one color than the other which means my pens run out of one color more than the other. But that will of course happen with the handles. I would buy again as they are not messy and can be used when you want to paint but don't want to set up your space for a full painting session.
