I bought medium sized gloves even though I think I'm short. There were a few reviews mentioning that they are difficult to remove when wet so I went with the larger size. It fits snugly around the knuckles and fingers except for the thumb. I think you should just take your normal size. The glove was difficult to take off if your hand got wet, but that wasn't a big problem. The material for the 4 fingers was made from the elastic material used to make the rest of the glove. The thumb was suede that stretched as you cycled. At the end of a 5 hour bike ride, the thumb hole was severely stretched and didn't provide enough support. Aside from the thumb issue, the glove worked great. The trail I cycled on was very flat so gloves were not required. However, I believe they will perform well in rough terrain. Just take your usual size and pay attention to your thumb.
