Review on 🚗 Dorman Differential Cover 697-702 by Black Croom

The picture is a bit misleading. Model 696-702 does NOT come with a gasket. I also saw some people talking about the lack of a drain hole. This model does not have a drain hole. The circle you see is a magnet that attracts metal shavings that develop over time as the gears wear against each other. Another misleading thing is that I have seen reviews that said this model was unpainted etc. The model I received was painted black. It also had what appeared to be a Dorman symbol, a part number, and "China" on the outside. Strangely, when attaching the lid, everything lies on its side. I was a bit skeptical that it might be a cheap fake but it is sold direct by Revain so I think Dorman recently started coloring them and adding a print to the outside. I installed this on my 8.8 rear end with a Fel-Pro seal that I bought separately and it fitted well. The holes line up with the differential and the gasket. No leaks, flush mount.
