I usually order a medium size to ensure a snug fit but I followed the advice of other reviews and went for the large size. I'm 5ft 7in and about 170lbs. The tight fit is important so I don't have to pull my butt up all day. I believe it also helps with compression to avoid muscle fatigue in the legs. That being said, the bottom is tight but doesn't help with tummy control. I would argue that the huge strip at the top actually makes the dog look WORSE as it doesn't flatten him. :-( So this is NOT something you wear on a full stomach or when you're slightly bloated, unless you already have a super flat stomach. Love the padding on the top! The top not only hides the headlights and the Rebound control complete but also the thick padding makes you look FULL I'm a B cup which makes a difference for me I love the snake pattern and I think overall it looks good for a curvy body I'm just disappointed with the 100% insufficient stomach control .
