My son is almost 10 years old, he is of average height (a bit tall if that) and a bit thin. After reading the reviews I ordered (size 12) and I'm glad I did. It's not that the 10's won't fit, but with an adjustable waistband and added length, there's room to grow. I will probably order in a different color. We have the charcoal and in some light they seem to have a blue tint so I'm afraid the navy blue might be too similar in color. My son is very happy with it! UPDATE: Years later and still stoked!
