Good for testing almost all types of USB cables

Love this cable and battery tester. It has all kinds of USB adapters and a port to plug whatever you want. Has a slight learning curve as everything is controlled by a single push button switch. The current Course and Fine controls are too sensitive and do nothing for the first 25%. I can also say that this "new" block I bought had to be built when it was first available because the thermal paste had dried and cured. Still good value for money once you get used to the menus and one-knob settings. When testing cables connected to a PC, you must be VERY careful not to exceed the PC's USB current or this connector will be disabled and some PCs will require a reboot. Another thing I don't like is that the fan turns on at 0.5A regardless of power consumption. I was surprised by the display's voltage and current accuracy at low power levels, but didn't take measurements at high power. The MOSFET is rated for 250V and 38A BUT knowing the Chinese who knows if it's actually used? The result I think is great for checking USB cables for current capabilities. If it hadn't been for the very, very sloppy handling, I would have given it 5 stars. There is 1 video with a decent review that I recommend watching or asking a 10 year old to show you how to use.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not the best
