Review on 🎧 Jaybird RUN XT True Wireless Headphones: Unmatched Performance in Black/Flash by Tina Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall good wireless earbuds for working out

I bought these because I finally wanted to switch to true wireless earbuds for running and other workouts. The fit in my ears is very secure thanks to the winged eartips. I don't feel like I have to use my hand to adjust them when doing cardio/running. Setup was easy with my iPhone and the Jaybird app is easy. I love how the app is used to adjust the equalizer settings and there are many preset equalizer settings to choose from. The first set I received didn't have the headphones I needed for my ears so I got an exchange through Revain. At first I tried asking Jaybird to just send me a small set of rubber earbuds, but they said they didn't have them (what?!) and that I should just trade them in for Revain instead. If your supply chain is so bad you can't keep small accessories like tiny 10-cent earbuds on hand, maybe you should fix that, Jaybird. At least everything was included with my replacement. Initially, I struggled with some occlusion issues because the silicone ear tips that were initially used covered my inner ear too well, which made for very good bass, but every footstep and heartbeat was a thumping sound that gave me a headache. This happens when the earmold completely seals off the ear canal and no air escapes from the ear, causing the pressure change in the ear to sound like a low-frequency "boom". I fixed this by going for the next smaller size silicone earcup, which allowed for enough ventilation to negate the effect. As a result, I lost almost all of the low bass due to the sound quality. However, I wanted them for exercise rather than audiophile music, so it's a compromise I agree with. Highs and mids are decent, but if you're after audiophile sound, don't buy wireless headphones. Sometimes my left earbud will disconnect for a second or two during a workout, but that's typical of wireless headphones when one is connected to another. . Airpods probably don't have this problem, but Airpods aren't sweatproof either, so I didn't want to risk damaging the $150 earbuds afterwards.
