I bought a vintage hanging lamp and put a huge vintage LED bulb in it, it was very bright and I wanted to be able to dim it. I needed a switch on the lightbulb and a dimmer on the lightbulb. I figured I could get it and use the innards in my existing jig. It worked but be aware that the top is a bit tight and the engagement button is significantly thicker and lower than the regular mount so it took some trimming to increase and lengthen the channel for the switch. However, it works effectively. Doesn't heat up. It can be switched on and off and has a full range of brightness and dimming of a vintage LED lamp. You have to crank the wattage up a bit for it to glow, but then you can turn it down for easy wear, it barely glows. I don't see why they don't just make devices that come preloaded with it, but if you need it here's how to do it. Buying this gadget and stealing the electronics from it is cheaper than ordering the electronics directly.
