Review on ⌚ Timex Marathon Unisex Digital Watch TW5K84800 with Black/Blue Resin Strap - Mid-Size by Mike Diaz

Beware! Timex is not the same anymore!

This watch has lasted just over a year, slightly longer than the warranty period of course. The strap broke with normal use. We've bought several Timex watches for our 6 kids over the last 20 years and found that they all share the same trait: they last a year but the strap breaks or the watch stops working once the warranty runs out. We always get stuck when buying new watches because the replacement part costs as much or more than a new one. I've read that companies test and re-test their products to make sure they're good enough to last the warranty period. The evidence supports this overwhelmingly. When I was growing up I had 2 hours. Each has lasted over 10 years! I gave one to my daughter when she was old enough to use it. I can't believe the junk they are selling today calling it a watch! And they cost 3-4 times more! A few years ago a Timex rep told me that Timex is a trusted brand and that they stand behind their product. It may have been 50 years ago, but today I realized it was the exact opposite. I've spent hours online and on the phone trying to get a replacement service but got nothing. Moral of the story: Don't spend a lot of money on a Timex watch! This won't last! Any company that can't give you more than a year warranty is selling you crap!
