THERE IS A REASoN IT DOESN'T COME WITH A BLOWER!

Some people complain about this unit not coming with a blower or fan. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T COME WITH A BLOWER! ITS RADIANT HEAT! This means it heats the objects in a space, not the air in the space. The obiects then give off warmth which heats the air. So yes, a fan will help circulate the warmth coming from the heated objects but with proper placement of the heating unit a circulating fan is unnecessary. Any object in front of the radiant heater will be warmed which will warm the air around…

    Pros
    • This keeps my 3 bay garage warm and toasty , Very easy to Install , no power needed for stat
    Cons
    • Not energy efficient

    Outstanding Garage Heating Unit

This heater is a great option for garage heating. My garage was built in 2004 (so pretty good insulation for a garage), is over 400 square feet, and has 12 foot ceilings. Even in cold Cleveland winters this unit keeps my garage warm. You'll need to have someone who knows what they are doing install the heater, but after that this will provide outstanding radiant heat and add humidity. Excellent if you want to spend time in your garage during cold winters. This is a ventless unit, which means you

    Pros
    • It works perfectly fine. I really recommend.
    Cons
    • Expensive initial investment

It would be nice if the heater pilot light would stay lit so the heater could be used. Has shut down almost daily in its 4 weeks of service.I purchased two different Mr Heater units and this one does not work.Since I purchased this from Walmart I don't know what to do. Fortunately Amex will stand behind. Just sent email to Mr Heater to see next course of action.

    Pros
    • Constructed with durable materials that are designed for long-term use and minimal maintenance
    Cons
    • Can add to the homeowner's carbon footprint

Good buy for the $ best in my review

I bought this heater with the intention of using it on my covered porch but decided to go a different route. I had a custom stainless shroud fabricated to "clean-up" the look.

    Pros
    • Can be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted for the user's convenience and space-saving needs
    Cons
    • Can be difficult to control the temperature accurately

    Great Heater --- but

Great heater and has a thermostat included for installation. Larger than I thought, but works great. I mounted it in a garage the recommended distance from the ceiling (34") but still got the drywall so hot you couldn't touch it. I put a tent of sheet metal half way between the ceiling and heater, and that took care of the problem. Would recommend this to others, just make sure you have adequate clearance.

    Pros
    • Simple installation process means it can be easily added to any existing garage setup
    Cons
    • Not suitable for use in enclosed spaces

    • May not provide adequate heating during extreme cold temperatures

The right heater in my review

Works great in my 2 car garage that is not insulated I've been able to get it 70 degrees when it was 8 outside That's my review!

    Pros
    • Simple and lasts for years
    Cons
    • Can be noisy when in operation

Escape the winter in your garage!

I installed this heater in an hour or so. Very easy to install and very warm. I am heating a 26x26 garage in northern Michigan. It has been in the garage for one week and I am keeping it at 55 with only 2.5 hrs of run time a day. I am insulated well so that helps. There are no detectable CO levels in the garage and there is only a slight odor after running. I have a ten foot ceiling so I made a reflective heat shield out of diamond plate to keep as much energy radiating downward as I can. I am…

    Pros
    • Great heater for the price
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for smaller garages

I used this product in my work shop. I have used and installed this product many times. It works great if it is installedcorrectly to your situation.

    Pros
    • Offers a reliable and environmentally-friendly heating solution that won't contribute to indoor air pollution like some other heating methods
    Cons
    • Installation costs can add up after factoring in the price of the heater itself

    Not worth a possible fire

Not good for garages. You have to make sure this thing is far away from the ceiling. We had mine hanging about 3 to 4 feet from the ceiling and the heat coming off of the top of this unit is a fire hazard. They should have built this with some sort of heat sink on the top. These are dangerous. Used mine 1 day and its done.

    Pros
    • Comes with a safety shutdown feature that automatically turns off the heater if it tips over or overheats
    Cons
    • Can make the air inside the garage dry, causing discomfort

Faulty pilot light good for me

Had this heater professionally installed, but pilot light would not stay lit more than a couple hours. Even when lit, the unit leaked gas so we had to stop using it. It produced great heat but we'll have to buy some other unit.

    Pros
    • Clearances: Top - 36", Sides & Back - 30", Below - 68"
    Cons
    • May not be aesthetically pleasing

    Garage heater. for my opinion

I purchased a used unit and it looks like new. I have only given it a three star as i haven't had it installed yet. It looks good.

    Pros
    • works well
    Cons
    • Requires a gas line to be installed if one is not already present

This product keeps a 10sqft area of my porch warm when it worked. Pilot light does not stay lit and the cermic blocks have cracked which causes it to sound like a backfiring car and then burn out but gas stays on. I dont know if i got a bad model out of the box but for the money spent this should have lasted longer than one winter with very light use. Total waste of money and i hope mr. Heater is willing to work with me on replacement.

    Pros
    • Built with safety and convenience in mind, making it a great choice for both residential and commercial use
    Cons
    • Not suitable for use with propane

Heat for area by old one heated.

This heater is not even close to as warm as our old one with the same BTU output so we have to have our old one rebuilt. Sorry it did not work because now it is going to be real cold and we need it.

    Pros
    • Farm shop
    Cons
    • Pilot light will not stay lit possible valve or safety switch please advise what to do thanks

Ordered 2 units, put 1 in service

After installing both units, I found that 1 was quite sufficient to keep my 24' x 30' x 11' storage building warm (about 50 F). Some observations include that an 11' tall roof is almost too low for these heaters, as the recommended clearances are fairly substantial. While these heaters do not require (or provide for) a direct vent, proper ventilation is important - check the Mr Heater web site for ventilation guidelines (400 cfm fresh air per 100,000 BTU, or 160 cubic feet per minute for one of

Keeps the Garage Open for Business

My husband can finally be in his workshop in the garage in Idaho in the Winter. He is very, very pleased. I'm happy he's happy. ❤

    Pros
    • Provides an affordable and effective solution for heating large or drafty garages or workshops
    Cons
    • Can take up valuable garage space

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Heater had bad gas valve

The heater didn't work when first installed.pilot light wouldn't stay lit. Talked with tech person & he sent me a new thermocouples & gas valve. Found out it was a defective valve. Now the heater works great. Tech erson was great to work with.

    Pros
    • Heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature, allowing for comfortable and efficient use
    Cons
    • May cause the garage to smell of gas in the longer run

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Great garage heater

Had this installed and mounted by third party, mounted per specifications. Come to find out it the heat from top of heater burned my ceiling. I will be complaining to manufacturer.Update: Wasn't installed per specifications clearance requirements. Worked well.

    Pros
    • Low noise output ensures the heater won't become an annoyance in otherwise quiet spaces
    Cons
    • Requires additional space for gas cylinder storage

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Good heater for shop.

THis heater works well in my shop. Needs more ceiling clearance, and you should have a fan of some sort, as the heat still goes up in the ceiling.

    Pros
    • Came in clutch this winter
    Cons
    • pilot would not stay lite waiting on refund!

Awesome heater. I'm heating a three car garage in .

Awesome heater. I'm heating a three car garage in Minnesota with it and have to turn it down. My third bay is an add on and the roof is insulated but it still heats all three bays. I started receiving my bills and it hasn't dramatically impacted my gas bill year over year. I expected it to be much worse. You do need the to pay attention to the specified clearances. Without my un-insulated bay I would not have had the clearance for this heater.

    Pros
    • Runs on natural gas, which is a more cost-effective and energy-efficient fuel source than electricity
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for those with respiratory issues
