Review on New Balance 880V11 Arrowroot Pepper Sports & Fitness by Patrick Burns

Disappointing quality

I have been a customer of New Balance for many years but this latest pair of shoes has disappointed me. The M880 is a mid-range shoe that is suitable for medium tasks but not for heavy athletic activities as some might suggest. I bought them mainly for daily work on the treadmill and ergometer, but the shoes are uncomfortable for the following reasons. On the treadmill, the constant clatter of footsteps makes the sole of your foot feel like it's flexing on a hard surface with every step. Additional deposits like Dr. Scholls and even third-party insoles didn't bring any noticeable improvement. The second dislike is the consistency of molded shoe soles. The right shoe is good, with a consistent feel from heel to toe, with enough cushioning for modest but unsportsmanlike tasks. The outsole of the left shoe feels like the consistency is roughly falling to the ball of the foot and the toe hangs off the edge like standing on the edge of a ladder. The additional padding had no positive effect. I can only recommend this shoe for everyday use.
