Like another reviewer, I have this for a 24" hardtail bought by my son. The rim has an inner diameter of 17mm, which I fear would negatively affect the profile of the tyre. My fears were unfounded and the tires measure 2.40 inches from grip to grip. Grip is excellent and we can run the tire pretty low without pinching. With this tire, our son can manage our climbing sections (pushing backwards, root sections, steep gullies with stones), which he simply couldn't do with other tires with smaller widths and tread patterns. weighs approximately 1250 g. In comparison, my rear tire (27.5 x 2.40 Maxxis DHRII) weighs around 900g, so the Nevegal is a beefy tire but will likely hold up fine until your kid outgrows the bike and passes their brother or sister. !
