Review on HARVET Multi Function Entrenching Backpacking Snow Removing by Chad Myers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tool with few tools too many.

Let me first say that I love this tool and now it lives in my backpack. However, some of the tools are extremely difficult to use and belong to other multi-tools. I would even describe both saws as unusable. A small saw is better for a pocket multi-tool, and a bucket saw is incredibly bulky. If you have nothing else, it will pass. Best to have a special folding saw from one of the campers, but if you are alone I would of course use this unique tool for weight reasons. Phillips and flathead screwdrivers also work better with a pocket multi-tool. Whistle - extra weight, as it should be on the bracelet. Flint is okay with this tool, which lets you drop flint from your standard survival kit. Since it's attached to the pipe, I'd rather throw it away. The ax is the highlight of this tool. It works very well for over a few hundred full force hits before I had to tighten the bolts on top. I haven't used the spear yet. Finally, make sure you fold the tool up after each use. I left mine packed overnight and it rained. The center handle must have shrunk in the cold or rusted as I needed the Chanel locks to apply enough force to pry it apart.
