I rarely write reviews but my disappointment upsets me enough to write one - and at great length. I had Original Clip, Clip+ and Clip Zip. I liked them all. I liked that they are small (great for running and the gym) and affordable, and only include an MP3 player. I use my music players a lot, so I've never liked the idea of using and overusing a much longer and more expensive phone (or other combo device). Also, I only have one phone for calling and texting (for a number of reasons). I also like that they worked with WMA files and Windows Media Player and were of very good quality - at least for the price. They were no worse than devices twice the price. While most companies try to add features and improve user experience with each product update, Sansa has chosen to go in the exact opposite direction. I will list the things I hate about this product: 1. 2000 song limit. No matter how much space each song occupies, the system only displays the first 2000 in the AZ list by file name. I save my files in wma 64kbps format to save space. It is of good quality (128 kbps mp3 equivalent) and really cares about super sound quality. I had 3500 songs that were about 6 It occupied 8 GB of space in the Clip Zip and everything was fine. I can only play (play) on this Sport 2000 device - after that it's basically a flash drive. 2. Change in compatibility of playlists and Widows Medial Player. I use Windows MP for my music because it supports wma which iTunes doesn't have. With previous models, I could set up the device to sync all my songs and playlists to WMP with just a few clicks. Don't really allow sport now. Syncing gets the music on the device, but your playlists won't work. If you need a playlist on the device, you have to download the tracks to the device and then manually create the playlists over and over again, making sure that you create the playlist from the tracks on the device and not from the (same) tracks on your computer's hard drive. The device doesn't support wpl, and simply re-saving the playlist to m3u that the player supports doesn't work. I think I finally figured out why: pre-existing playlists recognize songs by their current file location - copy and paste a playlist (supported even in m3u) and the device doesn't recognize the songs because the playlist directory looks for songs on the searches computer, no songs on the device. In earlier versions of the device, playlists could be synced via WMP and bypassed this problem. Sports do not.3. Files are always sorted alphabetically. In previous versions, the songs for each album were listed by track number (if it was part of the file). Not this one! It still plays individual albums, but the only choice is to play them alphabetically or randomly. 4. Songs cannot be played by genre. Feel like listening to different artists/albums/songs in the same genre. Well, being you sucks because sport doesn't. (Even earlier versions did this) 5. No voice recorder. I haven't used it much but I have used it. If that was the only downgrade, it would be forgivable. I should have taken feedback and ratings more seriously. Contrary to some reviewers, I haven't noticed any drop in quality with Zip. In fact, it was the longest-lived of the three. Based on the reviews, I was hesitant to buy it, so I searched a lot for similar products, but I couldn't find a well-known and reliable brand. Also, I've had experiences where a product has received generally mediocre reviews, but I really liked it so I gave it a go. It was a big mistake. I really want a refund. hp If you don't see any problems with the things on my list, you might like the player. Additionally, if the company is smart, they will create a major firmware update to fix most of these issues. but could not find a sufficiently well-known and reliable brand.
