Reflective strips work well. . . for many uses but not for others. Keep in mind that the cost is less than ten dollars. I wear them and wear them as bracelets on both hands for a morning run (in the dark) for about five years. Worn over long sleeves, I had no issues with cuts or chafing. They never left my wrists. At the same time, the plastic coating came off the metal strip after about two years. But . . . I believe these bracelets have made me visible to cars several times over the years (especially turning cars whose headlights may not illuminate my Nathan's vest) when those drivers might not otherwise have seen me. Therefore, less than ten dollars every two years was reasonable to avoid the possibility of getting hit. Well, I wore them once on a hike. Not good. At one point the trees tore a bracelet off my wrist and the bandage was never found. And while some people are successful in the ankle area, I'm not. My conclusion: Good product, great price when used correctly.
