Review on πŸͺ‘ Classic Style and Comfort: Regency Regent Guest Chair in Mahogany/Black by Kanika Costa

Revainrating 2 out of 5

looks ok Not particularly practical or easy to build.

This chair consists of five parts that snap together and screw together. The package includes screws of various sizes, as well as washers and lock washers. My son and I are usually good at quick build projects like this and we had the tools we needed on hand. However, step 1 - attaching the seat pad to the seat frame - was problematic as the screws kept going into the seat frame and not the small hole in the back and into the pad. We eventually overcame this difficulty and moved to using screws to attach various parts of the seat frame. At one point we used a bolt that was too long for one of the points. He fought his way to the tree and smashed the laminate on the back of the chair. Although washers and lock washers are provided, the instructions never indicate where they should be used. We finished the build in almost an hour, only to find that while the chair looked like typical office furniture with its black and cherry-veneered construction, it was uncomfortable due to inadequate lumbar support, minimalistic upholstery, and seat cushions, while nobody did less than 5ft 5 Inches tall should touch the ground with their feet. However, the chair is robust and will easily support even fat office guests.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Obsolete
