The new formula doesn't work!

Used to have a purple box and the product has worked great. I received a white box and the formula has changed. Blue water does not clear and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. Unfortunately, Revane won't let me return this. I can't find it in any local store. So I'm stuck with a defective product and afraid to buy another box for fear of getting a new box again. Does anyone have another product that works with Invisalign retainers?

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled

Beware! New box with a new product that smells like Polydent

With 8 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist this product has suddenly become those cheap pills you buy in pharmacies called Polident. Smell and taste disgusting. I suspected something would be different as the color of the pills seemed lighter. I used the original Brite retainer for many years so I could compare.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as good as it says it is

Does not work as described

Does not work as described! Doesn't turn white after 20 minutes like the original sample I got from the orthodontist, doesn't clean at all, doesn't work, beware buyers *UPDATE* The first product I received came in a "new look box" , a completely white box that doesn't work at all. They sent me a replacement in the original packaging and the product works 100% as advertised and like the sample I got from the orthodontist. However, I'm not changing my review because the first review I received…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some bugs

MUCH better than Fresh Guard

Definitely the best product of its kind. The attached picture shows three sets of Invisalign aligners. The left one just came out of the bag. The other two were used for two weeks; The middle set was cleaned with Retainer Brite every morning and the right set was cleaned with Fresh Guard every morning. Everything else was the same - I drank nothing but clear liquids while they were inside and I (obviously) didn't eat anything. It is very clear - a play on words - which product I will use in the

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

New box contains a completely different formula. The main ingredient is now baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), while in the old box the main ingredient was potassium persulfate (an oxidizing agent). The manufacturer decided to mislead customers - now you buy a very expensive mixture of mainly baking soda and citric acid. .

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Repair

Have been using aligners for 6 months. My last two orders worked fine and as advertised; However, the new tablets come in new packaging and have a different feel. The product no longer works as intended. Blue water does not become clear even after 20-30 minutes. The product leaves a chemical smell and taste on the aligners even after thorough rinsing. I ordered twice thinking I received a bad batch but the bad results are still the same.

Pros
  • Designed for patients with removable dentures - not for false teeth and clasped dentures
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

The "new " version of the retainer Brite is no good!

I have been using retainer Brite to clean Invisalign for about a year. The product I use was purchased from Dentsply Essex and packaged in a bluish purple box (see photo below). It worked great! The product I am reviewing through Dentsply Sirona which comes in a white box is terrible. The "old" version of Retainer Brite had a mint flavor and turned the water from blue to clear while cleaning/sanitizing, always within 15-20 minutes. This 'new' (white cardboard) retainer Brite tastes and smells…

Pros
  • Designed for patients who wear removable dentures - no artificial teeth or removable partial dentures
Cons
  • New competition has emerged

The new box (so far) looks nothing like the old product

UPDATE: June 2019 My My other favorite brand, M3, also changed their formula so I decided to try Retainer Brite again. The new retainer brite pills are so bad I feel like they are fake. They smell of gasoline, don't hiss and don't clean anything. The water turns blue quickly and smells very bad. The box is purple again and the pills are marked Retainer Brite on the inner box but this is nothing more than a 'new' formula which I have given 1 star and is a far cry from the original RB of several.

Pros
  • The pack contains 96 individually wrapped tablets (3 months) to keep your devices clean, bright, fresh and debris free
Cons
  • I'll write later

Don't listen to reviews that the new formula is rubbish

I used the old formula. However, when my supplies ran low I went back to Revain and was surprised to read about the new formula and all the negative reviews about it. I bought another brand that used the old formula as a temporary fix. However, I later read that the main ingredient in the old formula, sodium perborate, was potentially carcinogenic and was actually banned in the EU. The new formula supposedly removed it. So I decided to try a new formula. Guess what? None of the negative reviews

Pros
  • Remove cloudy film and plaque by soaking the prosthesis daily
Cons
  • Only available in black
