Review on OmniArc 8 Inch By 8 Inch Non Slip Circle Cutter by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Always perfect circles

The bright markings on this ruler make it very easy to use. I've had the best results by cutting a square of fabric that's slightly larger than the circle I was trying to cut. Starch, press down, cut in half, press down, cut in half again (now you've folded four) and press down one last time. Large dots and straight lines on the ruler will help find the center of the fabric. Cut out with rotary cutter. I love using this ruler to cut out the details for the fan quilt. I added another mark to this ruler, an X mark 1/2 inch from the center of the point on the 45 degree line. That will be important later. Take a 6 1/4" x 12 1/2" rectangle, starch it, press it down and fold it in half. Place the folded edge at the 90 degree mark. Cut the fabric along a 6 inch arc. Use a fabric marker to mark the angle you want to use (Example: Make 20, 40, 60, and 80 degree marks on the 5" and 3" lines). Without moving the fabric, lift the OmniArc. Place the corner of your fabric against the X you created on OmniArc, keeping the edges straight. Cut out a small arc using a 2 inch arc line. Remove the OmniArc. Remove the small half circle from the cutting board. Attach a ruler to the drawn and cut lines. The result is 9 perfect fan blades. Using suitable fabric, cut out a 2 inch circle for the center of the fan. Wow, it was way quicker to cut the fun parts than to write about them.
