Review on πŸ“¦ DCWV Cardstock Stack, Brights Match Makers, 58 Sheets, 12 x 12 inches by Kelly Caballes

Good colors but not quite "cut ".

I bought this board to expand my card arsenal for making embellished greeting cards. I love that it's a beautiful, large bouquet of bright, cheerful flowers. There is a micro-woven pattern on BOTH sides of the paper, which is a nice touch as textured paper always adds a bit of 'pop' to a postcard. I also love that the paper is 12 x 12 which adds versatility to your creations. To me, however, the true measure of paper quality is how it performs after it's been cut and scored and then folded. I appreciate as DCWV warns that the paper on the front of the package is white card, so that doesn't mean I wasn't warned. The edges of the paper cut very cleanly, so it passed the cutting test. Unfortunately, this paper completely failed the scratch and fold test. I use the We R Memory Keepers rating tool (which I really like) to score on Martha Steward's rating board. I then use Martha Stewart's Bone Folder to fold the postcard after it's folded. The end result with this paper was quite a bit of tearing, which doesn't make for very high quality cards. And of course the white core shows through - but at least I was warned about that. The paper is 65lb cardstock so it makes a good base for a postcard but as it doesn't fold and fold well I can't use it as a base BUT it still works with card overlays. It gives very clear and smooth die lines and very nice embossing. Overall I'm happy - just not happy.
