They are perfect for what we need. Very easy to place as Christmas lights. I didn't even use the clamps that came with it; Instead, I just drove some nails into the railing and ran the rope's light back and forth a few times. MUCH easier than traditional Christmas lights which I used to avoid because of the hassle. My only complaints are that these lights cannot be extended by connecting a different set at the end and the remote control is very confusing with poor instructions. Most of what I learned about how to use it came from posts on the web, not the instructions that came with it. I have three sets and will likely buy more.
