These are not solid brass

These are not made of solid brass, they are made from a lightweight metal, possibly aluminum, with a thin bass colored coating. The description indicates "SOLID BRASS CONSTRUCTION: The hose connectors are made of solid brass which is more sturdy and durable than plastic or aluminum one. " I took a file to one edge of the fitting--if solid brass it should be the same color throughout. The hose fittings work, but wont' be as durable as solid brass.UPDATE: The seller has revised the description to indicate that these are made of aluminum. Previously, they indicated that they were solid brass.

Very easy to install.

Cons

The kit may not work for all types and brands of garden hoses, leaving some users with the frustration of having spent money on a product that doesn't solve their specific problem

These hose repair parts work, but the screw clamp isn''t a great solution for holding the hose against the aluminum fitting as the end of the clamp and the bulky screw interfere with quickly attaching the hose to the faucet (imagine the motion you make with your hand while your thumb and index finger clamp around the fitting as you screw it on to the faucet and then imagine a sharp piece of metal digging in to your palm as you make that motion). In retrospect this seems an obvious flaw. I won''t select this kind of repair kit again.
